Room For Opportunity | Accommodation in central London for youth and school groups

Providing affordable trips for young people is becoming increasingly difficult. Without support, many Scout groups are unable to offer educational and cultural visits to London due to the high cost of accommodation.

For the 4th New Forest / Eling Sea Scouts, the trip would simply not have been possible without financial assistance.

During their visit, the Scouts:

Explored London's cultural and historical landmarks
Learned to navigate a busy city independently
Used public transport and developed practical life skills
Built confidence, resilience and teamwork
Experienced educational opportunities they might otherwise have missed

The trip also gave young people the chance to develop relationships and create memories together outside their usual environment.

The experience helped Scouts grow in confidence and independence while broadening their understanding of the world beyond their local community.

For many, it was a rare opportunity to access the cultural and educational experiences available in the capital.
